Lace me up!

kellokukka shawl in progress, knit using handmaiden mini maiden in ’smoke’
What happens when a single sock knitting maven gets distracted from knitting single socks? She knits lace. And more lace. And then some more lace.

shetland triangle shawl in progress, knit using malabrigo lace in ‘azul profundo’, yarn held double
Ooops! But she doesn’t knit all the same lace! That would just be too responsible of her. And she is anything but a responsible knitter–otherwise she’d have, like, twelve pairs of socks, instead of, like, twenty-five single socks. (And, yes, for those of you wondering, the Official Single Sock Count is 25).

kiri shawl in progress, knit using rowan yorkshire tweed 4-ply in ‘barley’
Okay, so that ’she’ is me. And while I am the most fickle knitter you know, someday I’ll have lots and lots of pretty lace shawls. And socks. Let’s hope that Fall is for Finishing, because, people, I have lots (and lots!) of finishing to do!

All three are gorgeous! The Mini-Maiden and Malabrigo look infinitely pettable, too.
I love how the loose gauge of lace knitting provides a nice break for my hands, wrists, and shoulders, esp. after knitting at a tight gauge (prime example = socks).

So many pretty lacey things. I don’t know how you can have so many charts banging around in your head at once. They all look lovely.

Those are all so very lovely! I like the very slightly rustic look of each of those yarns.

Damn girl!

I don’t think any of your readers is going to mind the single sock situation as long as you keep posting pictures of gorgeous knitting - and all this lace definitely qualifies! (Besides, eventually the first of those 25 sock patterns will seem like a whole new knitting experience, right?)
Off to cruise Ravelry for more pictures of kellokukka shawls…

I love all the lace! I’m hoping Fall is for Finishing, too, because I have quite the backlog (and a huge queue waiting for me, but I’m determined not to cast on for anything new until I finish the old stuff!)

Wow! Lots of catching up to do. Congrats on the new site, it looks great. And the shop - wow! and the new feline, and the big life decision (I presume it’s a decision you’re happy with).

Oh WOW what a good call on the Malabrigo lace weight held together, I might be copying you on that one!

So lovely and so different - I like each shawl for a different reason! You have impeccable taste. 25 single socks…thump *fell to the floor*…;)

They look so pretty! I loved knitting Kellokukka, it’s such a fun pattern. My first lace shawl, too.
On the plus side, you don’t have to knit a pair for these!

Eeep! Lace! Yours are well on their way to becoming lovely pieces. Perhaps I should give lace knitting another try….

Don’t be ashamed, join this group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/singlesocks/
I’m really impressed by the single sock number! And don’t ever knit because you have to, knit because it’s fun! And if fun to you means starting new projects, well do it!
Have a nice day!

Beautiful shawls. You amaze me - I’ve never known someone who could dedicate herself so much to her latest passion. you definitely don’t do anything half-assed. What’s gonna be next? (after finishing the socks, of course)

Oh wow. These are beautiful!

Wow, I thought I had a lot of UFO’s. But with so much tempting you, I don’t blame you for getting distracted. Those lace projects are beautiful!

Look at all that lace! I just want to reach through the screen for the mini maiden. It looks so soft!

They’re all gorgeous. A little variety is good!

The new site is great!

Responsibility is over rated in knitting. Anyway, you could always wear mismatched socks! The lace is lovely.
