The proof is in the leaning tower.
The leaning tower of socks, that is. Look it here, proof that I still knit, despite my summer vacation from blogging! Okay, so maybe this particular leaning tower is built out of single socks, but they won’t be singe for much longer. This October (or, rather, Socktober), I’m going to start methodically working through the single socks I’ve accumulated and crank out the mates. This new blog needs new FOs, yes? Yes.
Thank you for all of your comments on the new site + store! I’m pretty pleased with both. I mean, posting again after just 2 days?? Clearly, change is good.

I’m going to take my bow now. I think I’ve earned my spot on Team Philistine.

Truly one of the New Seven Wonders of the World! That Tower is impressive, sort of puts the Colossus of Rhodes to shame, doesn’t it?

You are going to have the best sock wardrobe once you knit up the mates to all of these!
26 August 2008 at 10:51 pm
That stack is amazing! Do you wear them mismatched or are they just art objects until you finish the pair?
26 August 2008 at 11:09 pm
wow, you’ve been a single-sock maven! good thing you have a shiny new site to show them off.
(will this fall see a reprise of the single-sock swappage?)

I love the tower. Very beautiful! I am hoping as well that Socktober will get my butt in gear to knit some mates. Best of luck to you!

Look at all those singles! They need mates for sure! It will be nice to see them all paired up.

But I want to see individual pictures of all those socks. I want to know what the yarn is, and what the pattern is! Please please please???

If you were my sister, you would never knit a second sock. She refuses to wear 2 of the same sock EVER.
Just a hint.

Oh, the glory of the Single Sock Highrise! Now I need another picture of all of them strung along a clothesline so I can see their beautiful patterns and get inspired to soup up the sock production Chez Bluegarter.

This picture is too lovely! I wish I knew more about the sock that is almost in the center, two socks below the yellowish one that looks like a shell lace pattern and right above the variegated blue, lavendar and purple one. That yarn looks beautiful!
