Simon says…

Hello + welcome to the new home of the Knitting Philistine! As you can see, many changes have been in the works Chez Philistine this summer, and I am happy to say that the new digs + shop are nearing completion. Yes! I did say shop! My new shop of handsewn goods is just one of many dramatic changes I’ve made, and it is certainly the biggest one. Okay, perhaps the *biggest* one was the decision to leave my PhD program and graduate school. I’m sure there will be more ramblings about that soon enough. In the meantime, I hope you will have a look around my new blog + update your RSS feeds + have a peek inside my shop. Oh! And I should probably introduce the new family feline… Simon Flavius Cat. Many of you are familiar with him from Flickr, but for those of you who aren’t, let me just say, he’s a rascal. And he will likely join Edwin Claudius Cat (otherwise known as ECC) in many appearances ’round here.

I have a ginormous backlog of things to show + tell y’all, but I’m going to take it one step + one post at a time…. and fear not, I have a nice pile of single socks to show y’all from this summer’s knitting. That’s right, this is still a knitting blog, though I have expanded my crafting to include sewing + quilting, so I’m sure I’ll have plenty of stuff to say about those topics as well.

More soon!
